| My name is Alicia K. Bryant, to let you know a little about myself, I am 49 yrs old and not a teenager like some people I know would like to tell you I act like one sometimes. But I like to think you are as young as you feel LOL. I am from Columbus, Ohio and I spent 11-1/2 yrs in the Army. I love both The Partridge Family and Hanson. Actually I can't get enough of either band. Like most teenage girls growing up in the 60's and 70's I too was in LOVE with David Cassidy and to tell the true I still am LOL. I still loto hear him sing today. Now we have a new set of teenagers to LOVE the sounds of their music. They are 3 young boys from Tulsa, Ok and they are known as HANSON!!!!!!!!! | Welcome to my Hanson vs The Partridge Family web site. This web site is for those of us that grew up in the 60's and 70's and grew up with The Partridge Family and loved the music they sang vs the Hanson's, which also have beautiful music that everyone can listen to young and old alike....The groups are simular but one is a family on TV and the other are three brothers from Tulsa, Ok, but they both have a great sound in their music. I have to give credit to the three boys from Ok to the fact they write their own music....Plus they have their own magazine called Moe which you get once you join their fan club and you can get more details in the link listed below. This was then: The Partridge Family starred Shirley Jones and David Cassidy. "The Partridge Family" was loosely based on real-life family pop/rock band The Cowsills "Hair","The Rain, The Park & Other Things","Indian Lake","Love American Style"). The other Partridge members were Susan Dey as Laurie, Danny Bonaduce as Danny, Suzanne Crough as Tracy, Jeremy Gelbwaks as Chris during the first season. Gelbwaks' perents felt unconfortable with the ensuring mania that surrounded the show and took the youngster out of the cast. He was replaced in the role by Brian Foster. The members of the cast heard on the records are Shirley Jones and David Cassidy. This is now: Meet the Hanson's, Zac, 14 yr old, drummer/vocal, Ike, 18 yr old, guitar/piano/vocal, and Taylor, 16 yr old, keyboard/lead vocalist. Raised in Tulsa by music loving parents, the Hanson also lived for a short periods in Trinidad, Ecuador and Venezuela as a result of their father's job. Brought up musically on Time/Life compliations of classic fifties and sixties music, they begun writing and performing publically as a group in 1992 when Zac was only six years old, including a performance at the May Fest Arts Festival inTulsa. Two self-distributed CDs followed, along with extensive live performances that honed their instrumental abilities. Playing at the South by Southwest Music Convention for unsigned groups, they linked up with manager Chris Sabec, who finally landed the group a deal with Mercury Records after they had been dismissed as unmarketable by several other companies. Their debut single, the self-penned 'MMMBop', climped to the US singles chart at number 16 before climbing to number1, and also topped UK charts.
